AN OPEN LETTER TO:
THE SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE, JOHN BOEHNER
HEALTH CARE REFORM LAW (OBAMA CARE)
This law was enacted in 2010, and upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court Justices, 2012. While many attempts were made to have an affordable health care for the Nation, first 10 years ago by the Republicans, then President Clinton, it finally happened. A health care affordable for all Citizens of the United States of America.
Growing up and reading the papers, many people died in emergency rooms of hospitals, simply because they lacked health insurance. Because of too many "toe tags," it was established that on-an-emergency basis ONLY, a person can be "seen," sans health insurance. Of course, selectively (discrimination). Just a couple of years ago, in Brooklyn, a person died in an emergency room hospital because of the above.
To defund the Obama Care, in my lay person's opinion, would first have to be appealed in the very same Court that upheld that law, and you, The House, will be violating the would be recipients' rights to health care--deprivation, and the right to redress you. To defund health care is a "band-aid" abuse excuse to repeal.
AUTOMOBILE INSURANCE
If memory serves correctly, under President Kennedy's administration, auto insurance was mandatory. I remember my father grumbling more costs, why???, but you were permitted, by choice, to go to another state to pay less -- New Jersey. Now, if you are not insured, you can go to jail. Yet, this same mandatory law saved and continues to save lives. Ditto--Seat belts. -- Next cell phones bans texting, etc, while driving.
DE FUND FRAUD
With dire need of social services, e.g., Social Security, Welfare (food stamps), Medicaid, Public Assistance, et.al., FRAUD, is the NUMBER ONE problem, with AID FROM present and former employees--IT'S ALWAYS AN INSIDE JOB!!!
Instead of cutting services, CUT THE FRAUD. In New York City, the Department of Investigation, continuously root out fraud -- HRA, and speaking personally, the Fair Hearing Office, 14 Boerum Street, Brooklyn, NY -- one administrative law judge, would tell me that they will take out $33.00 for a phone, from food stamps, whether you have one or not. This is an appeals office. For some reason, the employees of Human Resources Administration seem to think if you have social security, they can incorporate your food stamps, cut the stamps, and call it a "budget." Yet, another person is receiving more. In one instance, a mail box in Brooklyn was a pick-up point for food stamps.
SOCIAL SECURITY
Please read Ways and Means Committee Chairperson, Sam Johnson's remarks on Puerto Rico. When he hears about the Bronx -- nine states, one recipient --- CUT THE FRAUD. AN INSIDE JOB.
I have GOOGLE ALERTS and just about every topic, which includes social security, is available, when it happens. It's informative and current.
SOLUTION
CUT THE FRAUD. Social Security has its own medical facility, it should be utilized and mandatory. Since funding emanates from Federal, each state should be accountable for their deceptive business practices, and the local entities should be held accountable to the State.
Cutting services would only hurt the people in need, while the fraudsters remain wealthy or comfortable. Since these are crimes against the people-in-need, an inside job, these "employees" should be charged with on-the-job theft, deceptive business practices, pre-meditated, theft identity, malicious communications, and an example like Penn State, should be adopted.
